Our Founding Story
TRESSS® was born from a simple idea: a pool that could be safe, beautiful, and functional year-round without sacrificing outdoor living space. When Andrew and Cecilia set out to design their own home, they realized that no Movable Pool Floor system in the U.S. met the level of engineering precision and design refinement they envisioned. So they created their own.
Andrew’s background in elite motorsports—including IndyCar, the Indy 500, Formula 1, NASCAR, and global racing series shaped the discipline, accuracy, and safety-driven engineering behind every TRESSS® system.
Cecilia’s leadership elevates the brand through vision, client experience, and a commitment to luxury-level detail. What began as a personal solution has evolved into a new chapter in outdoor living—where engineering, architecture, and beauty come together with intention.
The Meaning Behind the Name TRESSS®
The name TRESSS® carries a deeply personal and meaningful origin. In Spanish, “tres” means “three,” honoring the Heards’ three children — Sophia, Sebastian, and Stefani — each with a name beginning in “S.” The three S’s became a symbol of family, purpose, faith, and the inspiration behind the very first TRESSS® design.

With more than two decades of experience in high-performance engineering, Andrew Heard has built his career within the world of motorsport innovation — a field defined by precision, speed, and uncompromising standards. Throughout his professional journey, Andrew has contributed to engineering programs associated with IndyCar, including the Indy 500, as well as advanced technologies developed for Formula 1 and Desert Racing environments.
In that world, every millimeter matters. Every design must perform perfectly under pressure — lessons that shaped Andrew’s approach to engineering and design excellence. When he decided to build a pool for his own home, Andrew couldn’t find anything that met the same level of mechanical integrity and sophistication he was accustomed to in motorsport. So, he designed it himself — creating the first concept of the TRESSS® Moving Pool Floor, where mechanical mastery meets architectural elegance. Today, his vision continues to inspire the brand’s ethos of Luxury Engineering with Purpose — transforming the precision of motorsport into the serenity of modern aquatic living.
